Webinar : What connects root hairs, C. elegans and mechanosensing
Dr Marcin Barszczewski, Application Specialist, Andor
Date: Thursday 28 September 2017
Time : Midnight
(we realise this is not an ideal time for us Aussie's and Kiwi's ! We will provide the link to the webinar recording once it is available)
In this webinar, the first installation of the Andor Journal Club, Dr Marcin Barszczewski will discuss findings from a few selected research papers in which an Andor sCMOS camera has been deployed for imaging. Topics include calcium ion imaging in root hairs of arabidopsis, mechanosensing in axonal growth and neuronal imaging in C. elegans.
This informal session will include an interactive Q&A discussion following the presentation of each paper with peers from your research field. Papers that will be included for review this month feature:
- Light Sheet Fluorescence Microscopy Quantifies Calcium Oscillations in root hairs of Arabidopsis thaliana (https://academic.oup.com/pcp/article/3098167#91450795)
- Mechanosensing is critical for axon growth in the developing brain (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5531257/pdf/emss-69760.pdf)
- Pan-neuronal imaging in roaming Caenorhabditis elegans (http://www.pnas.org/content/113/8/E1082.full.pdf)
