Andrew initially joined Coherent Scientific in 1996, after doing PhD studies at Griffith University, and managed the Physical Science Division before taking up a position with Coherent Inc in Santa Clara, CA in 2001. Between 2001 and 2008 Andrew held a number of positions within Coherent Inc, including Sales Manager for North America for the Lambda Physik subsidiary and Director for Marketing for Instrumentation, OEM, Medical and Graphic Arts market segments. Andrew left Coherent Inc in 2008 to move to Veeco Instruments Metrology and Instrumentation Division as the VP of Strategic Marketing and Business Development, who were acquired by Bruker Corp in 2010. Welcome back Andrew!! He is the Managing Director and also will be managing our Life Sciences and Metrology Instrumentation Divisions.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Dale Otten to our sales and service team. Dale has recently completed a PhD at UC Berkeley, where he was a member of Professor Rich Saykally's group. His thesis describes the nonlinear surface spectroscopy of electrolytes in the air/aqueous interface via UV-Vis second harmonic generation (SHG). Dale has over six years experience working with ultrafast tunable laser systems and will be focusing on sales and service of our scientific laser products. We are very excited to have Dale join our team and we look forward to introducing him to our customers over the coming months.

After completing her PhD in Physical and Inorganic Chemistry at the Univesity of Adelaide, Jen spent a year in Oxford University as a Postdoctoral Fellow studying Supramolecular Chemistry. Jen joined Coherent Scientific in March 2001 and is the Manager of the Nanoscale Characterisation division. Jen is currently on maternity leave, returning 2013.

Nick Cole has worked with Coherent Inc lasers for over 25 years, first as an engineer working on the development of the Innova 300 ion laser at Coherent Inc and for the past 20 years as a field service engineer for Coherent Scientific. He has vast experience on many different laser types, many factory service certifications and now leads our field service team.

Norman, along with two colleagues, Paul and Boris, established Coherent Scientific in August 1989. Norman has been the Managing Director since 1992. He assists the division managers, Paul and Andrew, in the day to day management, business development and sales management of the company. He has a background in Physics research, having previously undertaken PhD studies at the University of Adelaide.
