The HybridStage is a modular, piezo-based sample scanner stage with a motorised unit for large sample movements.

  • Characterisation of the topographical and mechanical properties of plant cells, cell layers, cartilage, parasites, scaffolds, bones or tissue with typically uneven surfaces
  • Single Cell Force Spectroscopy (SCFS)
  • Characterisation of cell-cell interactions and extracellular matrix proteins
  • Membrane tether experiments
  • Cell/cell or cell/substrate adhesion in 3D

Key features

  • Equipped with three scanner units that can move either the tip or the sample
  • Choice of sample scanner best suited to sample (100 x 100 x 100 μm3, 200 x 200 x 200 μm3 or 300 x 300 x 300 μm3)
  • Combined piezo and motorised stages for automated mapping or scanning of large areas (20 x 20 mm2)
  • SlimFocus™ feature for improved optical focus control
  • Optical Tiling and Multi-Region Imaging
  • Multi-Scan Tissue Mapping
  • Batch processing option using the JPK data processing (DP) software
  • Maps large objects such as cell scaffolds, printed 3D structures, microspheres or capsules and micro/nano-structured surfaces over millimetre distances
