Edinburgh FS5 Spectrofluorometer

Compact high-sensitivity spectrofluorometer

Edinburgh Instruments

The FS5 is designed to meet the highest measurement specifications in the research and analytical markets. To achieve optimal sensitivity, resolution, and acquisition speed, Edinburgh select only the optimal performance photomultipliers in temperature stabilised housings, and utilise an optical design that includes plane, spherical, toroidal, ellisoidal mirrors and optimised mirror coatings. The FS5 is truly unrivalled in its spectral performance and sensitivity.

Features:

  • High sensitivity, Photon counting detection, with a signal-to-noise ratio of 10,000:1 provides exceptional sensitivity for the detection of weak fluorescence signals
  • 2-in-1 spectrometer, measure both absorption and fluorescence spectra in a single instrument
  • Adaptable, Tailor to your requirements, from a dedicated spectral fluorometer to an all-in-one characterisation platform with time-resolved fluorescence and quantum yield
  • Plug & Play sample modules, auto-recognised sample modules that can be swapped in seconds, enabling a rapid transition between different sample formats and measurement types.
  • Near-Infrared detection, extend the measurement range out to 1700nm by adding a NIR detector, ideal for studying NIR-emitters, such as quantum dots and upconversion nanoparticles
  • Automated acquisition, maximise your lab productivity with the FS5 Fluoracle software batch feature to create automated sample measurement sequences
  • Live vdeo demonstration - contact us to arrange an online demonstration. We can accept your samples and talk you through the process as we run test measurements

Not only does this superior design guarantee the highest sensitivity and broadest wavelength coverage, but it has also been optimised for a small bright focus at the sample position. This is important for measuring small sample volumes and benefits many sample holder attachements like a plate reader, fibre launch optics mounting, titrators and sample positioners.

The standard FS5 has a number of upgrade routes that are unique in its class, including spectral range extension up to 1650nm, Fluorescence and Phosphorescence Lifetime measurement capabilities, polarisation/anisotropy and much more.
